Blog Explosion Still Suck

Last post in here was May 2006. I thought I'd give Lewis and Silent Stephen a little bit of breathing space so that they could do something with BE without any criticizing on my part but it looks like they've dropped the ball and fumbled a little bit.

Where is all the new shit? After a huge influx of new gimmicks, bells and whistles (thoughtfully provided by BlogAdvance and BlogMad and subsequently stolen by BE) there seems to be nothing in their newsletters other than issues being solved and already established junk being tweaked.

We're done with the fixing and tweaking.

Has the well run dry? Why is Silent Stephen still silent? Was there ever a Stephen? Jeff? Are you still in there?

Lewis, we want to see your head explode. We want to see new things.

Just when you thought it was safe to come back through BoycottBE there is a new post.

Thank you to BE members who sent me the latest newsletter from BE. Its like Jeff never left with all the exclamation marks peppered through it and I'm still out to vote on whether Jeff actually sold and left BE.

If Jeff isn't there any longer then it looks like Lewis and Silent Stephen are going to go the same trend in mimicking other traffic sites with little shout outs like:

Live BlogExplosion Radio....Radio for Bloggers, by Bloggers, and even about Bloggers!

Clearly a BlogAdvance caption with their "for Bloggers, by Bloggers" being slightly twisted to include the radio.

Next, BE will be screaming that it's "all about the ratio" so that BlogMad doesn't feel left out.

Perhaps Lewis and Silent Stephen could move away from aping other traffic exchanges so that the illusion of Jeff leaving can be properly experienced because I'm just not feeling his absence at the moment.

Time for a new change gentlemen so how about you actually sweep away the copying of other sites and think on your own two feet.

A close watch will be kept on BE to make sure it does things right. I hope that new things will be brought in by the "new" management soon because I don't think what they have will be able to contain many more updated versions.

They have gone and done it again!

If Jeff and his team ever managed to come up with an idea of their own, I would eat my hat. What have they copied this time I hear you ask?

They have gone and got themselves a BlogExplosion store, just like BlogMad did at least 2 weeks ago. BlogExplosion lack creativity on all levels and this recent announcement once again proves that.

Ever wanted BlogExplosion apparel? As we prepare to finalize the sale of BlogExplosion tomorrow, we have been working hard to clear our project log and get out as many new features as possible before the new owners take over. Check out the BlogExplosion store where you can buy cool customized BE clocks, t-shirts, coffee mugs and bags.

At least the BlogMad apparel looks half way decent, I'm sorry but I wouldn't be caught dead in the get up that had a huge ass shitty BlogExplosion banner on it.

One does wonder why they are creating such features if they are selling as early as next week, I mean all this hardwork for nothing? Ok, maybe not nothing, but they aren't going to benefit from it, so why do it?

I love how they justify it by saying they're clearing their work log, do they repaint their entire house before they vacate the premises, after someone has already bought it?

I'm waiting for the big announcement of the new owner, as it was apparently finalized yesterday. They got their $100,000 miminmum asking price according to reports and even then I think the price was too high.

Everyone get your champagne glasses at the ready, Jeff has crumbled and sold his "baby" as the pressure of competition got too much. So long sucka!!

Here are some stats for BlogExplosion as of today. I hope the buyer of this site takes note of the downward spiral.

Now those numbers are quite a drop all at once....

As you can see a slight spike in the traffic, but still quite a drop for a site with its 50,000 members. I wonder if fake traffic has been bought to increse the so called "trend in the right direction".

What I find to the biggest hypocritial moment of the BE saga is the newsletter that was released a few backs. It was directed at BlogMad....

Demand excellence no matter what site you use!For that reason BlogExplosion is a difficult site to manage. There have been lots of negative things said about us just because people have nothing better to do than to be negative or because we have kept spammers, cheaters and people with nothing good to say off of BE. When using competitive sites make sure they provide full stats (not just counters) and make sure they provide quality traffic for your time on the site.Games and puzzles are cute but do send you quality traffic? Do they offer all of the features that BE does? Can you surf by category? Can you flag sites for profanity or mature content? Can they be cheated or allow auto-clicking programs to work? Do they display all of their traffic numbers on the site and tell you the whole truth? Are they still in perpetual BETA?Keep track of your blog stats. See where that traffic is actually coming from. Keep track of unique percentages, time per blog visit. Demand the best return for your surfing time. Ratios dont mean a thing if the quality of traffic is not there. A recent announcment on the official BLogExplosion blog states the following....

Just a quick note that because of extemely heavy userload the main BlogExplosion server has been loading slower than we want it to. After making several changes to our databases today BE is responding much better now. There is a huge level of traffic on the site right now, but our server farm is responding well and everyone should notice the site loading much faster now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Today's Alexa ranking and traffic status shows this.....

Userload? Ummm, ok....

Just what site is Jeff reading their stats etc from? According to the traffic, it's sort of in a slump and it looks as if BE reached their peak a long time ago.

BETA BlogExplosion Sale Part 2

BoycottBE has in his possession snippets of the BlogExplosion pdf package that they're sending out to buyers and what a read it is. It seems Jeff has once again managed to "exaggerate" numbers which is looking quite bad, especially since they're starting bids off at $100,000. Major rip off, especially when you look closely at the real numbers. Others seem to agree with that sentiment too.

The most interesting read, was the part that states there are NO OTHER blog community/sites online today. I guess the likes of BlogMad, BlogAdvance, BlogClicker, BlogSoldiers, BlogCrowd, BlogMosh, VirtualLoop are all a figment of our imaginations?

If memory serves me corectly, BlogClicker was recently sold on Ebay of all places for $7,500 and it had a standing member base of just under 10,000 members and it had only been online since January last year and yet here is BlogExplosion that has been around 18 months and they "claim" to have 50,000 members, but yet the buyers package states NEARLY 50,000. Just under 40,000 is near 50,000 if you're rounding up to the nearest 10,000 that is closet to half 100,000.

Also it seems the "real" truth is surfacing as to why they're selling, it's not beacuse they're builders as they claim, but it actually seems that they can't afford to run the site anymore. Jeff quoted that he had spent 10,000's out of his own pocket to build BlogExplosion and if you look at the monthly income that is in my previous post and put it againt their expenditure, that even in the buyers package isn't the "whole" truth.

they say their expenditure "averages" at $1500 a month, but they didn't count in the scripts they have been buying, the hiring of 3 new people to help code and design all the new "toys", money to Rachel who was being paid surely, how much, who knows, but she wasn't working all those hours for nothing.

It seems Jeff and his partner have ran out of money to keep BlogExplosion running as their monthly income over 18 months for their alledged 50,000 members is quite bad for a site that they claim to be on such a grand scale.

Also in the package it claimed to have 46,000 blogs in the directory, but on signing into BlogExposion, I took a screen capture of the following not more than 5 minutes ago. What happened to the almost 10,000 blogs that aren't listed that they claim to have? Are they stealth blogs that come out at special times?

What also is a telling point of the downfall of BE, is the users online. You're lucky to have 30 people online at any given time, while the new BlogMad averages 100 users online at all times of the day. Check the BlogMad homepage for those statistics, they're there in b&w. Even BlogExplosion's radio, that they have to pay the liscence for. (I guess they forgot to add that into expenditure) Has had a maximum 9 users that I have ever seen using it. Just tonight there current users is 1. Again shocking for such a large community isn't it?

If you google the sale of BlogExplosion, you will see many blogs out there talking about the sale and they all agree on one thing, BlogExplosion isn't worth what Jeff and his partner are wanting. You can fool the average mommy blogger, but you can't fool people that look at the facts and not the sunshine that comes out of Jeff's ass.

Beta version of BE selling.

We have contacted a couple of people to potentially broker and provide advice for the sale of BlogExplosion. We will be sending out a PR early next week with a two week window for companies interested in purchasing BlogExplosion.

Its been three weeks since the sale of Blex was announced and still nothing other than a number of new additions to the service.

But we are builders. We like to build new stuff. I am not sure we have the internal drive or motivation anymore to take it further as we have given it our best. We are very proud of what we have accomplished.

Does anyone else, other than the people who emailed me the same question, think its funny that a company that is up for sale is still adding new features to the site. Its like buying more furniture for a house that you are selling with the furniture already included and you don't add more things to the house thats up for sale unless its a really shitty house and you think the extra furniture is going to make it look more attractive and maybe hide the stained carpets.

If you look at their famous numbers because Jeff is all about numbers, you will see that their best month was in 2004 and it was $5872.50. That total includes everything. The credits bought and the advertisements but I wonder if expenditure was taken out of that such as programmers/wages/new tools/designs/scripts, etc. Not that it matters as their good month with their 50000 member base means that on average every member is worth 11 cents and their rapidly deteriorating totals don't look all that good from a buyers point of view.

Currently all members are worth 8 cents and during the silly season they were all worth 7 cents. In 17 months they've made $74195.50. The prospective buyers package went out on March 19th and after Jeff letting us know about three interested buyers who seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth now you have to wonder where they are. Maybe they weren't offering enough for what is very obviously an overinflated piece of not much, so now Jeff is looking for a sucker. I hear they have had offers of between 75K and 100K so Jeff is looking for a special sucker who will pay the brokerage fee and pay jeff and thomas back the tens of thousands of dollars they poured into the site from their own pocket.

I wonder if the sale of Blex will be pulled at the 11th hour and it will be business as usual for Jeff and his merry flock of sheep as they can continue on their wacky adventures through the Blogverse where they tell other people what to do on their blogs and deactivate people at a whim.

I want to link this as I think its important that people be able to find this easily.

I logged into my email earlier on and there were 33 new emails from people who had questions about the sale of BlogExplosion that they want answered and I have collected most of these questions and I put them on here in the hope (ha ha ha) that an authoritive figure from BE will answer those questions. Perhaps Orange Haired Boy can answer them seeing as he has nominated himself as someone important who can squash nasty rumors about BE. I will link to Orange Haired Boy seeing as he is a brown nosing whore and he'll notice the link and come sniffing around.

1) just what exactly is the real reason behind the sale? Could it be a difference of opinion or failing partnerships between Thomas and Jeff?

2) why hire new staff 2 months ago just to sell? Will these people lose their jobs?

3) Blogcharm was talk of the town and boasting about how individuals would make money from it and yet now they are selling, when just a few weeks ago they were promoting the March 1st release date of Blogcharm from beta. Why?

4) why talk about a brand new redesign if they are selling?

5) the lottery that Jeff has been talking about for months, the big plans and the tireless efforts of his staff looking for a suitable script oops I mean the tireless efforts of his staff hand coding the script. Why start off something like that if you're going to sell? We're still waiting for that to be released and yet come March we are still waiting. Does this mean no lottery?

6) how come there are 27362 members on the forum and only 37117 blogs in the BE directory but Jeff is saying there are 50000 members? The number of blogs is not an accurate counter as one member can have more than one blog registered under their membership, so where did Jeff get this figure?

7) from such a big blog exchange company BlogExplosion is making an average of $4000 per month. This looks like a wonderful figure except when you take into consideration that there is (according to Jeff) a 50000 strong membership base.

I've been having a look around and according to information on the helpme blog from October 2004 to February 2006 BlogExplosion have made $74193. Not a bad figure, but it adds a new slant to the actual selling price of BlogExplosion.

To me, that is not a sign of a booming and prosperous exchange site and is mediocre at best.

BE for sale - A deja vu post

It is with heavy heart that I write this post. Seeing as it may well be the last post I ever create for boycott be I have decided that I am going to go the same way as Jeff and be overdramatic and exaggerate things a little.

So the word is out. BE is up for sale but I've been saying that since September so no surprises there. I will say the timing is odd, seeing as BE just recently added three more staff members. It seems wrong to hire new staff when word out on the street is that the sale of BE has been in the pipeline for "weeks" and by weeks, I mean days.

The last week has been rather interesting. Lots of people have been sending me lots of little tit bits and I've been reading Jeff's impassioned speeches both in the helpmeblog and from his newsletter that was kindly forwarded to me by a number of people. You all know who you are. Thank you.

I have also visited the BA forum and after mentioning the sale rumor, had it out with some crazy fuck who can't speak english properly and it seems all the brown nosers from BE are going into damage control about the sale. Orange Haired Boy is now running around squashing rumors and I don't think I've been this amused in a long time.

There are a lot of questions that need answers and I will address those towards the end of this post but lets take a look at Jeff's newsletter which is in fact a letter to BlogMad.

We have already received dozens of warm and encouraging email from members thanking us for providing such a quality service. We appreciate hearing from all of you which makes it all the more worthwhile for us. We have always maintained that BlogExplosion members are the best and we have been very fortunate to have such wonderful members since we launched the site.

Some people have also wrote in and said nasty things including being scared of upcoming competition. We can tell you definitely that is NOT the case. BE still has the best traffic exchange scripts (cannot be cheated), has the best in terms of QUALITY of traffic, and the most feature-rich options available to members. Demand excellence no matter what site you use!

Perhaps you could set up a page of all these emails you're getting. A fitting tribute for the king leaving the masses and we can all read them and share in your trials and tribulations. If BE members are the best then show them your appreciation and publish their emails and link back to their sites like a good blog exchange owner would. As an ultimate fuck you, why not publish the nasty ones too and make a point of telling everyone how you're not going to link to such non BE trash. That would be a pretty dramatic leaving present Jeff. Think about it.

For that reason BlogExplosion is a difficult site to manage. The negative things that have been said about you have all been true. There is evidence everywhere of your dealings and how you treat your members. It also appears that you have issue with competitive exchanges in that even as you leave the blog exchange arena like the little bitch you are that you still can't resist putting in one more dig about competitive sites.

Your non cheat timer issues a credit the first time you click a wrong number. Do your other members know this? I've had reports from a few members who have pointed this out on your non cheat script. Its also been mentioned numerous times that your 30 second timer can be cheated by as much as 4 seconds. Exaggerating again Jeff.

Games and puzzles are cute but do send you quality traffic? Do they offer all of the features that BE does? Can you surf by category? Can you flag sites for profanity or mature content? Can they be cheated or allow auto-clicking programs to work? Do they display all of their traffic numbers on the site and tell you the whole truth? Are they still in perpetual BETA?

You're talking about BM here and let me tell you that is a sweet site. It took you four years to get a surf by category option open Jeff and BM have only been around for seven months and their site is getting better. There are options for profanity and mature content and even those features aren't infallible on your exchange Jeff. I heard about the blog you had on your rotation where there were naked women in compromising positions with sporting goods. Sexy stuff there Jeff and that blog was marked as profanity or mature content. It is also hard when a site that is owned by one of your staff members is responsible for turning what is normally a nonprofane blog into an ass page by not letting previous blog owners regain their sites. Kind of iffy ground there Jeff and I'd step back from that potential can of worms if I was you.

Displaying all the traffic numbers on a site are no good when you lie. On your blog you're talking about 50,000 members yet on your integrated forum the number is nowhere near that figure. Now when you said that the forum and the traffic exchange are integrated, that meant that the number of members on your forum corresponds to the number of members on your traffic exchange. Which display of numbers is the whole truth Jeff? How many of those members are people you have banned or deleted Jeff? When people sign up for blogs and are rejected does the number drop down again Jeff?

BETA. I cannot believe that you mentioned this. Half your site is in perpetual BETA and you're a laughing stock in that you just can't make that final push into making it all real. In the past couple of months all you've done is update and upgrade and even then its all still in BETA. Step away from the BETA accusations Jeff. You're potentially walking a tightrope there.

Keep track of your blog stats. See where that traffic is actually coming from. Keep track of unique percentages, time per blog visit. Demand the best return for your surfing time. Ratios dont mean a thing if the quality of traffic is not there. Stats never lie and you should always keep them for your blog.

I think we have taken BE as far as we can and want new blood to come in and take over where we left off. We will be looking for a company with the same fiery determination to make BlogExplosion that much better. We are the biggest and the best and we want a company to take over and keep it that way.

Anyone else could make this work better than you. Your skewed perception on what makes a company great has been your downfall as biggest does not make you best. You have this fact slammed in your face time and time again and still you are all about the (fake) numbers. The numbers mean nothing when you buy the traffic. The participation levels are what is important and you don't have it. 50,000 members and how many applied for the jobs you had on offer and while we're on the subject whats going to happen to those new employees?

When you hired them were you aware then that you were selling? Seeing as you've known for weeks that the sale of BE has been looming. Do you think it was right to open a blog platform that offers bloggers the chance to earn money when you're not going to be around to fulfill that promise? How do people know that the new owner/s is going to stick to that policy? They don't have to as once they buy the site they can do, delete and deny anything they see fit to.

Interesting questions, no?

There are already 3 parties interested in buying BlogExplosion. They are all companies with definite and sizable -internet assets- which means that the company that does eventually purchase BE will have lots of firepower to grow BE much faster than we ever could. This is great news for BE members as a larger company can build the memberbase quicker, have more marketing and promotion resources and have the ability to build smarter features.

What happens next?
We will be sending out a PR by the end of the week that announces the sale of BlogExplosion. From there we will have a two week window period to find a potential buyer.

Why are you sending out a PR and why will there be a two week window period to find a potential buyer when there are already "3 parties with definite and sizable -internet assets-" pounding on your door wanting in on it? Or is this like VH1 and your "partnership" that's not really a partnership and more like an affiliation.

Have any of them asked for solid proof of your numbers? Can you "cook books" on the internet? I hope all potential buyers are asking for solid proof, like legitimate bank statements to see all this wonderful money you're talking about. As an investor, I'd be mad if I found out that a site I just spent thousands of dollars on was actually nothing but an empty site with only a few hundred operating members and a whole lot of worthless junk accounts.

2. Daily Lottery and ShoutBox Enhancements

Things are still business as usual here as we continue to develop BE with our usual determination.

For ShoutBox we should have Frenzy and Trivia working by end of the week and we program the action scripts to make the messages pop up properly in ShoutBox.

Also Daily Lottery will be done by end of week where Rocket and Battle of the Blogs require 20 second visits and go towards a daily lottery where members can win bonus traffic each day.

So both of these features are scheduled to go live for the end of the week and should make BE that much more fun to visit.

I'm enjoying the fact that you make a big deal of games, puzzles and other things that would be counted as gimmicks yet you cap it all off with your enhancements to a lottery, the rocket and battle of the blogs. Gimmick things. Funny one there Jeff.

According to my BBE source the real reason BE are selling is due to the partnership not being as strong as it has been claimed to be.

Jeffs past behavior in his shoutbox and in other peoples blogs has proven that Jeff clearly isn't the brains of the operation so its obvious he's not the coder and the person that keeps it running. Jeff and Thomas have allegedly put tens of thousands of dollars into BE but if one person wants out then the whole project is scrapped and it is strange that they made all those expanding noises, like hiring more staff, adding new features and fine tuning things and then to just up and sell like that.

We must all look stupid to believe that. We all must have the attention span and memory of a dimwitted goldfish to believe that BE has been contemplating selling for quite some time. Jeff claims that BE is his "baby" and yet here he is selling it now. In a hurry too. A big hurry. Whats the rush Jeff? Who really wanted out Jeff?

Some months ago this poor pathetic loser had to have a competition held to pick a nickname for him. Jeff has the unfortunate affliction of having zero personality so it was hard to think up something that made him unique yet after all of this, a nickname for Jeff is relatively easy. With his penchant for lying and exaggeration and with half his site in BETA which is virtually computerspeak for "not really real yet", it's obvious his nickname should have been Pinocchio.

Domain name game

Good news for BE. Jeff's realizations of 31580 members for BE back in September 2005 have almost come to fruition, so a big huzzah to Jeff for his 5 month old lie. Congratulations Jeff for finally getting the traffic you deserve. Inside sources say we should also all say a big thankyou to Bloginvestigator.com, Blogobserver.com, Blogpromote.com, Blogspying.com, Blogdiscoverer and Blogexaminer.com for helping Jeff get to where he is today.

Jeff is so into numbers that the banned members and the members that withdraw are still counted on the forum and member base so the number will be reached soon but we all know the number is still a lie. Also Jeff has so many projects on the boil and is moving so fast on untested applications that he has made the word "BETA" a catchphrase for all BE members and is pushing forward his quantity over quality campaign.My mole says that BlogMads impending release is making Jeff a little nervous.

Now that BlogAdvance have announced that they are working on their BlogsWiki and have been for quite some time, even recently changing it from a subdomain to its own domain name my inside source tells me BE also have a domain name for a wiki and the domain name is Blogging Wiki and now one wonders if they will also release a wiki to battle with BA once again and I personally can't wait for Jeff's sudden interest in poll hosting. I am convinced he has been testing it for some months now and it is so ready to be sprung on BE members that it will only be in BETA for 2 months rather than the average 4 months that his current projects are running at. Its a mystery why these things are in BETA when Jeff is always careful to say all these new projects have been in development for some months and why there is a need to update the projects only a month after their release. Planning problems I would expect, or maybe Jeff is lying.

Why has Rachel one of the admins over at BE and an avid supporter of BE who, by the way has publicly spoken out againt BA and how crap it is, why has she bought blogadvance.info, hidden the whois so no-one can see who bought it but yet forgot to hide her tracks as the dns is ns1.dnsalienblog.com and she owns blogalien.com. Define 'overwhelming'. Of course, flash $$'s in front of anyone and you are going to get signups but by their standards of so called members the following statistics are pretty bad.

I hate linking to this site so I won't. BlogExplosion currently have 24,114 members as indicated on their forum. Let us look at numbers.

24114 members. 800 members applied. That means 3% of BlogExplosion's member base applied for blogs. Wow. Overwhelming is not the word I would use. More like underachieving, but then again BlogExplosion is rather famous for flaunting their incredibly large member base and yet nothing seems to happen when it comes to active participation by the masses.

For instance, BlogExplosion touts themselves as being the largest community forum on the internet. As was said before 24114 members with 9366 posts which leaves BlogExplosion running at 39%. All members of BlogExplosion automatically become members of their forum and if you leave or if you're deactivated your membership on their forum remains. Got to think of those numbers. On the flip side, membership on BlogAdvance's forum is voluntary and while there are only 255 registered members, they have 18289 posts and are currently running at 7172%.

A forum is no good if people don't participate and while BlogExplosion may have the numbers they sure don't have the statistics that prove that they are as "huge" as they claim and quite a number of big name blogs have left and that tells you something right there.

...BlogExplosion is getting recognized! We have been approached by several very well-known companies over the last few weeks and we have partnerships that are being negotiated right now!...

With the new "partnerships" approaching I feel sorry for their member base as if its not nazi controlled now, whats it going to be like when other "partners" matter and their image matters? As it stands, you cannot blog about other traffic exchanges, you cannot have a negative opinion about BlogExplosion and you're only allowed a "hate" blog if you are part of the inner circle. What happens when you decide to blog about one of the new "partners"?

Hiya Had, how's tricks?

I don't care if you attach my name to this or not, I'm past caring and Jeff will know it's from me anywho and I don't give a flying fuck what he thinks either.

I read with interest your last post about Jeff stealing the idea of Rent A Blog from some other site but really I wasn't surprised as it's not the first time he's done it.

See, he's been stealing other people's ideas for months and he sticks a pretty name on it and all his little sheep gather around him bleating their congratulations when really he's done fuck all.

For instance, his shitty forum. He stole that idea from BA and then tried to tell us that he had coders working on it for months before we came along but there are a couple of interesting points that he left out. First of all, it doesn't take even a mediocre coder more than a couple of weeks to work shit out and I should know because I'm learning it myself and I've achieved a fair bit in a few short weeks, so it's not like it's hard. Secondly, Jeff is so keen to blow his own idea-stealing trumpet all the time that had this really been in the works, he would have said something BEFORE the BlogAdvance forum came about.

Let's move on to Image Hosting. Another thing we did first, and he tagged along behind with his stories of coding and taking so long and integration into the rest of BE etc. It's not fucking rocket science, it's pages that you add to your site and you link to it. Customise things with your header and footer and you're good to go. It's not hard.

BlogAdvance also started a blog for its members. Jeff had been running a BLOG TRAFFIC EXCHANGE for years and NEVER thought to provide a blog with the service, till BlogAdvance did it. Once again, he copied us and all his little sheep gathered around and patted him on the back for doing... nothing.

Now we come up to Blog Hosting. This actually cracks me up, because on Thursday the 19th of January, Jeff said that none of the BE team had slept for some time because they were busy coding and how their blog hosting product was 99% done. He then went on about how he could "barely see the computer screen anymore" and how he was going to wait until his "team" were rested before it went into production.

What's really odd about this is the fact that Jeff is using the same blog hosting script that BlogAdvance is using and none of us stayed up for hours because all it was was basically a 15 minute install and that was it. One design later and we were hot to trot and BlogLegion was off and running.

Jeff can tell everyone that it was the whole blogging for cash side of it that took the longest, but the fact of the matter is what he is implementing is, in fact, part of the package, we just chose to disable it.

See, Jeff is making a big deal out of this blogging for cash business but what the average blogger doesn't realise is that not only will Jeff be pulling in cash from advertisers that are going to see his 22,000 plus member base and fall over themselves giving him money to have their ads on other people's blogs, but he's also going to keep half of what other people's blogs make and he's going to charge people for upgrades on their blogs. People are going to pay Jeff to have ads on their sites that they don't even get a choice in picking. Nice.

Probably another thing that people don't realise is that with that particular platform and with all other platforms out there, Jeff and his staff can log into anyone's journals at a whim, change things, delete things or even just stop your blog altogether, if he doesn't agree with the content and if anyone out there still thinks that Jeff would leave their shit alone if they were blogging something that he didn't agree with then they have rocks in their head.

Jeff is well known for deleting comments and posts from the shout box and his forum if he doesn't agree with what is said and he's also well known for trying to bully people into either posting his messages on their blogs as their own entry or threatening to sue people if they don't close down a site or delete comments that are derogatory to his little "business".

Jeff, you are a free service and you are not even a registered business and you have two chances of having your demands met and those chances are fat and slim.

You are a charlatan, a liar and a poseur and while you might have had one of the first blogging traffic sites out there, the fact that you have to copy other people's ideas and hard work tells the people who are capable of thinking for themselves just how much trouble you're in when it comes to creativity.

While it's lovely that you can brag that you can do things bigger and better than everyone else, the fact of the matter is you're a Johnny-come-lately and a copycat and you alienate you and your "business" because more and more people are getting dissatisfied with your service, or lack thereof.

If you're so gung ho on honesty and doing the right thing, at least give credit where credit is due and have the humility to thank the people that gave you the ideas to keep your "business" fresh because lets face it, no matter what anyone thinks of BlogAdvance, we've ridden your ass so that you provide better for your bloggers.

If it hadn't been for us, you'd still be relying on shit rules for BotB, you wouldn't have stolen the rent my blog idea, you wouldn't have started your forum, you wouldn't have a blog, you wouldn't have your blog hosting, you wouldn't have done your image hosting and I'll bet stat counters are coming up pretty soon too.

If BlogAdvance hadn't offered it's members new and diverse ways of attaining readers then you'd still be running nothing but a traffic site and people would be getting hits but not much else.

Here's a newsflash Jeff, and it's one that we realised early on in the game and that is that Traffic Exchange sites aren't meant to last forever. Down to basics, we're nothing but a big ass commercial for all the different bloggers out there and they sample blogs in 30-second (or less) increments looking for blogs that they want to read and comment on. That is why there is such a thing as a blogroll; so that when you find blogs you like, you link to them and it gets to a stage where a little network is forged and the traffic exchange sort of becomes superfluous except new bloggers keep coming in and the cycle is continued. It's all a big cycle Jeff; it's not the be all and end all of blogging like you seem to think it is.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough, but I would like to thank Jeff for the stealing all our ideas, as mimicry is the greatest form of flattery and we've been mimicked so much I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff looked in the mirror and he saw me.

Hi my name is Jeff and I own a traffic exchange site that hasn't had an original thought in a long time.

My claims to fame are Battle of the Blogs and Mystery Credits in my shoutbox but everything else, like my forum, photohut, blog and my up and coming traffic counters are rip offs from other sites with new and pretty names that I pay other people to think of so that it looks like I care about the people that surf my site.

I am so successful at alienating other people that I have no friends other than a few brown nosers who are now willing to pay other people to think up nicknames for me because I am just that sad.

I ask you. Have you ever seen a color combination quite like that? What was BE thinking. I was spammed with the BE newsletter yesterday I think its the fourth or fifth for this month with their new features.

Theres one new feature and one rip off from another traffic site and the rest are updates with lots of exclamation points so that things look more exciting than they really are. Do they think their members and by members I mean the real ones, are stupid?

Speaking of traffic has anyone checked out the statistics in Alexa? BE have been watched closely and its alarming how their traffic dips really low about mid month and then has a huge upward surge and then dips again. Check out how other traffic sites go and then compare them to BE. Sure BE will have higher numbers but those highs and lows look like the stability levels of a bitch on prozac.

I've been away a while. Was I missed?

While I've been gone, there are some points to ponder and I would like to thank the many emails that I have received in my absence and no no one was forgotten I had a recharge battery hiatus.

First of all I have a question to ask you.

It would do you good to just go and see what your money is supporting.

Although they still try to threaten BlogAdvance with playground tactics and finger pointing, their latest domination tactics are now concentrated firmly on the new up and coming traffic exchange BlogMad where another well known blog, namely Sarahintampa was struck from the BE rotation because she supported BlogMad. I see a pattern. Anyone else see a pattern?

I guess BE don't like the competition and by the look of how much they are spending on fake traffic to their site to boost their traffic it shows and I'm still waiting for these 30,000+ active blog and members to suddenly sprout up because you only have to look at their forums where it only shows 13,000. Sure it's great for a site thats been online going on 2 years but pathetic in how much they spend on fake traffic to boost their listings.

And just where are those 30,000+?

I have a tonne of emails to get through including some interesting screenshots of their "Random" blog rotation for the front page where a certain administration member's blog takes the top spot more often than anyone elses. Either they don't have the numbers or this has been manipulated and a lot of the members are getting angry at it. These will go up as soon as I've sorted through all the examples and I am assured that I don't double up on pictures so it looks worse than it is. I would hate to be called unfair.

After some considerable thinking about blogexplosion and the way its turning it out one thing keeps popping into the back of my mind. Could it be that blog explosion is designing new templates, paying out its ass for new members to increase traffic so eventually someone will come along and buy the domain name and Jeff and his cohorts can laugh all the way to the bank?

Jeffs primary concern is still tied up in numbers, rankings, how things LOOK etc and honestly if blog explosion was run by different people it would be an excellent service because if blog explosion really cared about the bloggers they would make the necessary changes by getting rid of a certain member of staff who has no public relations what so ever and they would stop trying to own the monopoly and they'd start to build a service for bloggers instead of building a service for revenue.

Make your way to Blog Advance's forum and you will see that it started 3 August 2005. More than a month later BE steps in and copies everything yet changes a few words around in a bid to look original. All BE do is update. There would be no new features if they had no one to steal ideas off.

BE has issues with a little healthy competition it seems. The admin staff cheat and threaten members and police the content of their members and are intent upon making every idea done by other exchanges as their own.

BE is like Walmart. They take a great product, decrease its value and then serve it up to the poor schmucks who frequent the site.

BE Lack Originality

Today I'm not going to point out people that have been shit on by BE. I'm going to point out how shit BE is. IMHO I think that Jeff, the owner of BE has become so obsessed with BA that he is now setting out to become BA. So far he has stolen the idea of a forum from BA and we all know he did because they had their board up and running for a few weeks before BE had one up.

Jeff's excuse was that he had always planned to put a board up but it took a whole month and a half to put it all together. Odd how it happened after the BA forum went up.

Two weeks ago BA were donating to Red Cross for victims of Katrina. Yesterday I received an email/newsletter from BE stating the same thing. Way to go Jeff you forerunner you. Are your days of an original thought over and are you going to add any new features or are you going to just keep updating and copying?

I hear that BA now have a whiteboard up so are you now going to say you had one of those on your to do list too and will it spring up out of nowhere with a 6 week old story behind it?

I read in your boards that someone congratulated you on being creative. I wasn't aware that you had braille blogs now because its obvious that some of your members have a seeing problem.

Go take a look at how many members BE really have. Nearly 5000 is nothing to sneeze at. Impressive for a year, but its easy to see that some of those members were accrued during the beginning of BE opening and then subsequently forgotten.

Take for instance, this blog entry by Tickles the Tapeworm where he is threatened by a BE staff member. The BE staff member then proceeds to cheat in a battle to prove a point (and still fails).

You can read the rest for yourself, but a person wonders if this type of behavior from a site where you entrust your password and your blog to them is acting ethically.

She was a regular user, used to frequent their BOTB and use their service a lot, but because she voiced an opinion that didn't go down well with the staff of BE, she was banned.

To make it worse, BE then covered their tracks by telling and showing people what they wanted people to see about why she was banned. But, the transcripts were saved and you can read it in full at her blog.

It seems lately that a "free" Blog traffic service has decided on what bloggers can and can't say on their own blogs. If they don't like your opinions, then they have been banning you from their service.

You speak out about something you dislike about their service and they act like you're a leper. They are also trying to alienate other traffic exchanges by making false accusations against them.

This isn't a service I want to be a part of, it's juvenile how they treat people.

This site is dedicated to those of you who have gone up against this site and lost accounts because of it.

In the interests of not helping them with their linkage and stats, could you refer to them by their initials. It makes them mad (and me happy).
